Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers examine how news is reported and understood. Strong proposals focus on one clear question, explain why it matters to a general reader and show what the piece can support without overstating its case.
What we welcome
Pitch explainers about reading claims, sources, context, framing or uncertainty. A useful piece might untangle a reporting convention, compare two ways a story presents evidence, or show how a reader can test an interpretation against the material available. We favour evergreen ideas that do not depend on unsupported claims.
Make the pitch concrete
Send a working title, the central question, the main point you expect to make and a brief note on the material or examples the piece would use. Be clear about what is established and what is still open. We are less likely to consider broad themes without a defined reader question or proposals that promise certainty the evidence cannot deliver.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please include enough detail for us to assess the idea; a pitch is not a guarantee of publication, and we may ask for clarification before making a decision.
